FEBRUARY 2020

We are so excited to share with you our 12th production of Dranoff's Arts Integration initiative Piano Slam. Over 2,500 student poets have submitted their poems exploring the theme of  Miami Variations – The future of Miami’s Peoples and Climate. The top 17 will share their words with us at the end of this month in what will be a powerful, touching show.

With the focus on Miami, we look forward to the performances by a local piano duo, Dan Strange and Rachel Ohnsman, the choreography and dancers of Rosie Herrera, the voice of singer Roxana Amed, the music of DJ Cardi, all under the music direction of Martin Bejerano and the stage direction of Ilana Ransom Toeplitz, whom we welcome back for her second time of directing Piano Slam. .

As always, the tickets for the general admission are free. However I urge you to help support this extraordinary program by ordering VIP tickets for the After Party at Brava in the Ziff Ballet Opera House across the street from the show. These tickets include assigned seating for the show, and access to the party where you can mingle with the professional artists, enjoy some light food and drinks and simply have fun. Please join us me on Friday, February 28, at the Arsht Center's Knight Hall to enjoy the show celebrating the hard work of the teen poets. I look forward to see you!

Warmly,
